Vedanta Sadhaka Course: A Year of Immersive Learning

Chinmaya Mission, through its accredited tertiary institution Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth (CVV), offers a unique one-year residential Vedanta Sadhaka Course. Held at Chinmaya International Foundation (CIF), in the serene surroundings of Adi Shankara Nilayam—the maternal birth home of Sri Adi Shankaracharya near Cochin, Kerala—this course awards graduates a Post Graduate Diploma in Advaita Vedanta.

Purpose of the course

The Course is a one-year (two-semester) immersive residential program focused on the intensive study of the Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, and key Vedantic texts. houghtfully designed, it equips seekers from all backgrounds with a clear understanding of Advaita Vedanta and the spiritual practices essential for a sadhaka’s journey.

This course offers a rare opportunity for sincere seekers to deepen their knowledge through a structured schedule of classes and spiritual disciplines within an ashram setting. Following the traditional gurukul method, students step away from external distractions, engaging in learning, reflection, and contemplation under the guidance of experienced teachers.

Course Teachers

Swami Sharadananda Sarasvati, is a polyglot with expertise in Sanskrit, Indian Philosophy (Yoga and Advaita Vedanta) with an in-depth understanding of ritualistic and cultural traditions. A post-graduate in Advaita Vedanta, he secured a first rank at the All India level, and was awarded a gold medal from the prestigious Sanskrit university, Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi.

Swamiji has been Acharya for Sanskrit and Purohit courses offered by Chinmaya Mission. He was also the Acharya of the two-year residential Vedanta Course in Malayalam (2018 – 2020) at Kerala Sandeepany, Adi Sankara Nilayam. He is also a member of the Academic Council of Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth (CVV).

Course Teachers

Brahmachari Ved Chaitanya, presently serving at Chinmaya International Foundation (CIF), Kerala, is a skilled orator in English, Hindi, and Marathi. A distinguished scholar with an Engineering degree from Pune University, Vedji worked in Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) before completing the two years’ residential Vedanta Course at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya.

Holding a post-graduate degree in MA Sanskrit from Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth and presently pursuing his Ph.D., Vedji embodies youthful dynamism coupled with genuine wisdom. Personally, Vedji exudes cheerfulness and kindness, endearing himself to everyone, from youngsters to adults.
