Pranav Ganesh Mandir
Auspicious blessings
The imposing Pranav Ganesh Mandir, constructed high on a hill above the Chinmaya Vibhooti complex houses a spectacular and immensely powerful 5.2 feet tall, pristine white marble idol of Lord Ganesha.
The temple was consecrated on January 26, 2012, with Kalashabhishekam and 3 days of elaborate rituals and puja. The temple has beautiful granite floors and soaring majestic ceilings and is designed in the shape of a Sri Yantra – a geometric symbol of the cosmos order.
Within the temple a Chinmaya Akhanda Jyoti, a lamp which travelled around the nation in the birth centenary year of Swami Chinmayananda, is the visible symbol of the Master’s eternally glowing light and love
The temple has an intensely quiet ‘Dhyana Mandir’ or meditation hall one floor below the sanctum, where seekers may sit silently, absorbing the powerful vibrations. A single backlit visual image of Om glows on the wall.
Maruti Mandir
Hanuman the stalwart protector
Lord Hanuman is the embodiment of all great divine qualities put together — devotion, dedication, service, dispassion, strength, humility, knowledge and every other virtue. – Swami Tejomayananda
Situated at the entrance of the complex, Chinmaya Maruti Mandir was consecrated on December 25, 2005, with the Pranapratishtha of Lord Hanuman, to protect and nurture the growing vision centre.
The beautiful little temple is made of pink Bansipur stone and has intricate carvings on its walls, while the idol of Lord Hanuman is made of pure, white marble. Every morning the sun’s first rays fall on the ever-radiant face of this ideal Sevak.
Chinmaya Jeevan Darshan
Walking with the Master
Inaugurated on December 27, 2008, Chinmaya Jeevan Darshan (CJD) is an outstanding tribute and monument to showcase the teachings, life, vision and work of Swami Chinmayananda through an exquisite amalgamation of paintings, sculptures, photographs, quotations, and audio and video multi-media technology.
Giant murals in brilliant colours piece together the story of Swami Chinmayananda’s life. The audio narrative through a ‘wireless’ GuidePORT head-set allows the viewer to understand the fifteen murals better, and also experience the whole monument at his or her own pace.
Chinmaya Jeevan Darshan brings the story of Swami Chinmayananda’s life alive to the visitor and invites us to aspire for the highest. The design ‘sets out to achieve the intimacy experienced by a visit to a temple or the satisfaction and joy felt doing a tirth-yatra (pilgrimage)
Chinmaya Jeevan Darshan: Open on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 1.30 to 4.00 pm (entry closes at 3.30 pm).
Swanubhooti Vatika
An enlightenment park
The Swanubhooti Vatika, (Enlightenment Park) is a unique and extensive garden that invites visitors to reflect on themselves, by themselves as they meander through a series of highly aesthetic and naturally beautiful environments.
Inaugurated on May 17, 2017, the design of the Vatika celebrates the geometric dynamics of India’s mandala art. Abstract structures, powerful quotes, thought-provoking stories and a variety of guided landscapes induce reflection; and the mind slowly becomes silent.
Clarity is the gift of the silent, tranquil mind. Visitors from across the world have acclaimed it for its uniqueness and its ability to inspire people of all ages. Swanubhooti Vatika won an Architects Engineers Surveyors Association (AESA) Award for 2017-2018.
Dhyan Vatika
The sacred grove
The Dhyan Vatika aims to revive an ancient tradition of maintaining sacred groves, known in Maharashtra as Devrai. Devrai is a patch of virgin forest which is preserved in the name of God and which represents an eco-system. This Dhyan Vatika provides a serene ambience full of positive energy and it is an ideal location for meditation.
Dhyan Vatika at Chinmaya Vibhooti enables the panchavati sankalpana associated with all our sacred places. Panchavati means a group of five sacred trees viz. Banyan tree, Peepal tree, Amala tree, Bilva tree and Ashoka tree, planted in a particular orientation. These trees represent Panch-Mahabhoot Tattva.
Individuals/families/groups are welcome to support the initiative by contacting us. Support covers water, fertiliser and labour for 3 years, after which the grove will grow undisturbed in its natural environment.
Special Facilities
Other convenient facilities at Chinmaya Vibhooti include Chinmaya Vani bookshop, ShivaShakti Gift Shop, and Chinmaya Upahar, an outlet where visitors can purchase unique souvenirs designed, developed and distributed by Chinmaya Mission across the globe.
The spacious Chinmaya Vani bookshop has a comprehensive collection of Chinmaya Mission publications, an attractive children’s corner, special displays of best-sellers, self-improvement titles, and a large inspirational and devotional literature section.
